Upside down “春”?
“春” means Spring, which signifies new beginning. New beginning in Taiwanese tradition means good beginning and therefore good, blessed wishes. Upside down means pouring out, like pouring out water from a glass and therefore pouring out blessing. With Taiwanese Lunar New Year, everything should be accounted for blessing and good wishes. Writing words like Spring (春), Blessing (福), Longevity (壽) upside down is one of the common practices during the Festivity and some of them last through the rest of the year until the new ones next year.
