We will try to bring you as many Lunar New Year festivities to you as possible. One of these was in Pingxi in the outskirts of New Taipei City. As much as the event was beautiful, I’m sure the fire department was on standby as you can see near the end some of the lanterns didn’t quite make it up past those trees and buildings. This is an annual event and Pingxi is famous for it.

Pingxi Lantern Festival in Pingxi, Taiwan (平溪 台灣 天燈). This was the first event on February 3, 2014. A beautiful historical town in the mountains of Taiwan. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the streets were filled with people! A recommended experience for anyone visiting or living in Taiwan! Video from www.drifteralley.com
